▼ New Uniqlo Flagship Soon To Open In Tokyo’s Ginza Area

Fast Retailing Co. will open Uniqlo Tokyo, one of the largest domestic stores for that brand, on June 19, the company has announced.

The store had been scheduled to open on May 15, but preparations were delayed due to the declaration of a state of emergency to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

A Uniqlo store was previously located on the seventh floor of Marronnier Gate Ginza 2, a commercial facility in the Ginza district of Tokyo. That shop has been moved and expanded to the first to fourth floors of the same building.

The new 5,000-square-meter facility was designed by the Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron. Fast Retailing is positioning the shop as a flagship in the Ginza district, where redevelopment is underway.

“Our aim is to offer the lastest Uniqlo products and have customers experience the best service in the world at the shop,” a Fast Retailing official said.
