- Category:Other

THE JAPAN NEWS
Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday it will provide active automobile safety technologies, including an automatic brake system to prevent or mitigate collisions, starting next year.
The Toyota Safety Sense technologies will cover most passenger car models in Japan, North America and Europe by the end of 2017. The set for compact cars will include a precollision system that uses a camera and radar to detect objects ahead of the vehicle and, if necessary, automatically applies the brakes to reduce the vehicle speed by up to 30 kilometers per hour.
Another system warns the driver through audio and visual alerts if the vehicle starts to deviate from the lane.
The other set of technologies, for midsize and high-end cars, will include an enhanced precollision system that detects pedestrians as well as nonhuman objects.
