Japanese private enterprises Rise Holdings and J. Shangri-La Medical Holdings inked two business agreements in the health sector with their local partner in Indonesia, Pelangi Mitra Selaras. The agreements were facilitated by Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Tokyo.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Tokyo has facilitated business agreements and encouraged the acceleration of business cooperation between Indonesian and Japanese businesses in various sectors, Ambassador Heri Akhmadi said in a statement issued on Friday.

"Tokyo KBRI helped arrange a series of meetings in Indonesia (that are) expected to be able to provide an understanding of the Indonesian government's latest policies and help bring them to local partners in Indonesia," he informed.

The embassy delivered a business mission to help expedite the realization of a number of Indonesia-Japan business cooperation pacts.

At least 13 business delegations from Japan's health and agriculture sectors, facilitated by KBRI Indonesia, visited Indonesia from March 27 to April 1, 2022, he noted.

The delegations visited the Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Sanur, Bali, that has been prepared for the development of a health tourism project.

Meanwhile, Tokyo KBRI also helped the inking of two business cooperation agreements in the health sector between Japan’s Rise Holdings and J. Shangri-La Medical Holdings with their local partner in Indonesia, Pelangi Mitra Selaras.

The signing of the agreements was witnessed by Indonesian Health Ministry's health service director general, Abdul Kadir.

Kadir lauded the support from Tokyo KBRI, which has continued to assist with the health collaboration.

"I expect that the realization of this business agreement can immediately be realized for the development of health technology in Indonesia," he remarked.

Upon their arrival in Indonesia on March 29, 2022, the Japanese business delegations were received by the Indonesian Agriculture Minister, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) head, and Investment Minister.

They also conducted several meetings in Bogor, West Java.

Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo lauded the visit from the Japanese delegations who brought bio-remediation technology to handle polluted land and agricultural cultivation using renewable energy.

"We need the technology from Japan in order to ensure the advancement of Indonesia's agriculture industry from upstream to downstream," he said.

"I expect that within this month we can explore concrete programs to implement the agriculture technology from Japan in Indonesia," he added.

The Japanese business delegations also declared their readiness to invest in Indonesia and said they expected to collaborate with local partners.
