TOKYO (Jiji Press) — East Japan Railway Co. plans to promote Vice President Yuji Fukasawa to the presidency, informed sources said Saturday.

Fukasawa, 63, will succeed Tetsuro Tomita, 66, who will become chairman of JR East. The appointments will take effect on April 1, according to the sources.
