Legoland Japan Offers Up to 25% Off Tickets For Families

  • Category:Park
NAGOYA (Jiji Press) — Outdoor theme park Legoland Japan on Thursday started selling one-day tickets for families that offer discounts of up to 25 percent, in response to visitor complaints about higher admission fees than those at other parks.

The discount tickets will be offered for visits by the end of this year. The effective fee cuts came less than two months after the first Lego theme park in Japan opened on April 1.

The discount one-day tickets come in two types — one for families with three members and the other for those with four. They are sold in advance only, with no same-day tickets available.

Prices are set at ¥14,700 for a family ticket for three and ¥18,300 for that for four if the tickets are purchased seven days or more before entry.

The price of the ticket for four is ¥6,100, or 25 percent, lower than the total costs of ¥24,400 for ordinary one-day tickets for two adults and two children aged 3-12.

“Taking demand from visitors into account, we concluded that tickets that make it easier for families to visit the park need to be offered,” said an official of the operator of the theme park in Nagoya.

The operator will decide whether to continue to offer the discount tickets in 2018 and ahead after seeing their sales results, the official said.
An ordinary one-day ticket costs ¥6,900 for an adult and ¥5,300 for a child.

The ticket price for children is higher than the ¥4,800 at Tokyo Disneyland in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, and the ¥5,100 at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka.
