Great Sake, Great Food And Great Conversation

Sake is one of the symbols of Japan. It is also one of the many reasons why visitors come from around the world to visit. Despite its popularity, though, there aren't all that many places that can offer great sake in English but if you are looking for such a place, look no further than Mujo Tokyo.
 

What is Mujo Tokyo?

Mujo Tokyo opened in 2017 and is one of the best sake bars in Tokyo. The bar is located in Yoyogi, a part of Shibuya well known for its quality restaurants, coffee shops, and vintage clothing stores.

Yoyogi is an easy walk from Shibuya Station or if you are coming from Shinjuku or Harajuku, the subway is convenient too. From Shinjuku, take the Odakyu Line and get off at Yoyogi-hachiman Station. From Harajuku, take the Chiyoda Line and get off at Yoyogi-koen Station.
 

Unique meals

Mujo Tokyo offers great sake in which the sake master himself chooses beverages from around the country.

The meals, too, are quite unique. For example, grilled boar and deer are popular dishes in this bar despite the fact that many Japanese don't eat boar - apparently because of its smell and texture - but it is worth trying.

International conversation

The sake master here at Mujo Tokyo is Tatsuki Ohara, and his English is great. This is one reason why Mujo Tokyo is one of Tokyo's best sake bars. There are many places to drink and explore sake but most do not cater for English speakers.

In those that do have some English, it usually isn't enough to discuss sake, just drink it. Mujo Tokyo is therefore very different as Ohara-san's English is great and he will gladly tell you the story of each sake.

With its cosy and comfortable 10 seats, Mujo Tokyo is truly a unique and personal experience. Do note that reservations are much appreciated.

Getting there

A 1-minute walk from either Exit 1 of Yoyogi-koen Station on the Chiyoda Line or the South Exit of Yoyogi-hachiman Station on the Odakyu Line.
