An Alice In Wonderland Tea Party Filled With Choc-Mint
There are many signs that summer is imminent in Japan, and one of them is an array of choc mint flavored goodies hitting the shelves of convenience stores and supermarkets.
The Hilton Tokyo have also jumped on the bandwagon, and they're hosting a tea party event inspired by Alice in Wonderland which features plenty of choc mint items on the menu.
The lineup of sweets includes choc mint frosted cupcakes, a chocolate sponge cake topped with mint buttercream, chocolate chips, and Oreo cookies, and even mint chocolate fountains to name just a few options.
Other desserts incorporate different flavors but are colored in mint green hues, such as the Alice's Mirror cake which uses the zingy tastes of green apple and lime. Even the drinks on offer have some minty flair, with beautifully presented choc mint cocktails and a "drink me" potion flavored with peppermint, lemongrass, passionfruit and ginger as just a couple of the choices available. In addition, there will be a host of teas from German luxury tea brand Ronnefeldt to choose from – including peppermint tea, naturally! Aside from the sweets and drinks, there are plenty of savory dishes to help to round out the menu.
A seasonal vegetable minestrone, various salads, sandwiches, and a roast beef carving service are a sampling of what's available.
The tea party event runs from May 27th until August 31st, and is priced at ¥ 5,000 per person on weekdays – this increases to ¥ 5,800 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Reservations are recommended, and they can be made via the official Hilton Tokyo website.
