Description

Guests can experience the whole process of Japanese tea ceremony which is the same style as the one held in temples or shrines in Kyoto. Tea master is certified by Urasenke with 400 years history and will be able to answer all of your questions.
 DetailsExperience a private authentic tea ceremony after you have visited the famous Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji) in Kyoto! In only 45 minutes you will attend the following:
  1. Introduction to the roots of tea ceremony in Japan:
    The spirit of Chado, utensils, and history.
  2. Watch a traditional ceremony performed by a lecturer of Urasenke, which is one of the most famous tea schools in Japan. I provide seasonal tea utensils that will help you enjoy the Japanese four seasons.
  3. Have traditional Japanese sweets and learn how to make your own powdered green tea. Use traditional utensils to make powdered green tea by yourself.

Special sweets often served in Real tea ceremonies in Kyoto will be prepared for Voyagin guests!

In addition, you can take free photos in the vestibule, decorated with kimono and traditional Nishijin textile and Japanese paintings.

  • You can wear Kimono and join tea ceremony. It includes introduction, 2 bowls of powdered green tea and sweets, and the experience to make powdered green tea by yourselves. You can take photos in a tea room as well as the waiting room with Japanese seasonal displays.

Option: Special tea ceremony at night! Available from 18:00 to 20:00 pm. Includes Japanese light meal, fresh sweets, Japanese cookies, thick & thin tea.

Option: Ikebana class in the morning! Available from 10:00-11:00am. Price includes flowers or trees.
 

Important information

Please come at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time because you cannot enter the tea room after the start of tea ceremony.
