The best way to go sightseeing in Osaka

Ever wondered where to go in Osaka? Worry no more with the Osaka Amazing Day Pass as it gives you unlimited subway rides, and free entry to many of the city's greatest attractions. Buy this pass from various tourist and information centres in Osaka, Kyoto, or Nara and enjoy all that the great city of Osaka has to offer!

The pass comes in two options: the one day pass, or the two day pass. The one day pass costs ¥2300 and the two day pass costs ¥3000, and is usable for two consecutive days. The pass gives you unlimited rides on the city subway system within a certain area, which is outlined in the booklet that comes with the pass. Don't worry about the area limit, because all the tourist spots and attractions are within that area anyway.

The pass also gives you free entry to a huge variety of tourist spots, including Osaka Castle, the observatory on top of Umeda Sky Building, the Tempozan Giant ferris wheel, the HEP Five ferris wheel, and many others. Not only does the pass provide free entry to many places, it also gives plenty of discounts too! Attractions that have a discount on the admission fee with the pass include Kaiyukan (Osaka Aquarium), Umeda Joypolis, Spa World Onsen, and others.

The discounts don't end there, as the pass also gives you many food discounts at select restaurants and stores. All this is explained in great clarity and detail in the guide book that comes with the pass, available in English, Chinese, and Korean.

If you're not sure what route to take and which sightseeing spots to go to, the website provides suggestions of model courses including a "Beauty Route" or a "Cruise Course". On the day I used the pass (I bought the one day pass only), I went in this order: I started with Kaiyukan, rode the Santa Maria Day Cruise (free entry!), rode the Tempozan Giant ferris wheel (free entry!), and had a discounted lunch at an okonomiyaki restaurant.

Then I went to Osaka castle (free entry!) where I enjoyed a gorgeous sunset, and then followed that with another discounted meal at a Tonkatsu (pork cutlet restaurant) in Umeda, then went to the Sky Garden Observatory on top of Umeda Sky Building (free entry!), and finished with a lovely visit to the onsen "Naniwa no Yu" (free entry!). The pass really gives you great access to the city of Osaka, and the price is really worth it, especially if you manage to visit a lot of attractions.
