Anime and game lovers alike will definitely enjoy a trip to Omotesando Box Cafe and Space with its current Yo-kai Watch Puni Puni theme.

Based on the popular video game and anime franchise under the same name, Puni Puni cafe has two basement floors decked out from top to bottom in Puni Puni decorations. From wall art to plushies, to a life-sized smartphone screen playing the Yo-kai Watch app, the cafe is colorful and lively.

 

The cute designs and embellishments are only the beginning of the fun as the cafe menu is also entirely Puni Puni themed. There are drinks such as a jelly and lemon soda topped with blue cotton candy and an edible wafer donning a character’s face.

 

The fun only continues with the food. The Puni Puni hamburger, inspired by the character Jibanyan, comes with a thick bun and a juicy patty. Served with wedge fries, mushroom soup, and an egg potato salad in an ice cream cone, this animated dish is both cute and filling.

 

A more astonishing yet delicious main dish is the Bushinyan curry rice; shaped into the face of the show’s samurai cat, do not let the sauce’s blue color startle you, as the curry is rich in flavor with a hint of spice.
Both children and adults will find Omotesando Box’s Puni Puni Cafe entertaining and delicious. However, make sure to stop by the cafe while you can, as the Puni Puni theme will only run for a little while longer.

 

Omotesando Box’s concept is to host monthly themed concepts in collaboration with the latest and most popular animes. While the cafe cannot reveal details the upcoming theme, one of the waiters hinted that girls from ten to twenty are the target audience. Be sure to check their website for announcements on forthcoming themes.

 

The best way to enjoy a meal at Puni Puni is by booking an online reservation in advance as the eatery can fill up quite quickly. Those who make a reservation will also receive a complimentary drink (iced tea, orange or apple juice). After finishing your feel, a small room by the entrance filled to the brim with trinkets and goods is a sure way to end your Puni Puni adventure.
