A Celebration Of Okinawan Culture In Kawasaki

Venue: Kawasaki Station East Exit area When: May 3rd - May 7th 2023
Haisai translates to hello in the Okinawan dialect, and the Haisai Festival in Kawasaki has celebrated Okinawan culture for 20 years now.

The event presents the opportunity to try Okinawan foodie favorites like soki soba, taco rice, and Blue Seal ice cream, enjoy traditional music and dance performances, or purchase a variety of fun Okinawan souvenirs.

You can explore some of the vendors for the event on the official website if you'd like to plan your day ahead of time.

There is no admission fee to enjoy the event, but do bring yen if you plan on buying food, drink, or souvenir items.

Getting there

The event takes place around Kawasaki Station's East Exit. The station is served by the Keihin Tōhoku Line, the Tōkaidō Main Line, and the Nambu Line.

For those who opt to drive, there are several paid parking lots around the La Cittadella Mall, which is one of the event venues.
