▼ Kunieda Wins Gold In Wheelchair Tennis Singles

No. 1 seed Shingo Kunieda won his third career gold in the men’s wheelchair tennis singles final at Ariake Tennis Park in Tokyo on Saturday, defeating Tom Egberink of the Netherlands 6-1, 6-2.
Kunieda previously won consecutive gold medals in the event at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games, but was knocked out in the quarterfinals at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
In the semifinals on Thursday, Kunieda defeated Britain’s fifth-seeded Gordon Reid, the defending singles gold-medalist from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
