Two designs feature Resident Evil Umbrella Corps, series’ 20th anniversary.
The official Japanese PlayStation blog announced on Tuesday that Sony will offer collaboration models for the PlayStation 4 with Resident Evil Umbrella Corps themed design to commemorate the game’s release.
The models feature one of two possible designs — one featuring art from the Resident Evil Umbrella Corpsgame, and another featuring art celebrating the series’ 20th anniversary. The 500GB PS4 model will have the designs available in both Jet Black and Glacier White, while the 1TB model will only have the Jet Black color available. The 500GB model is available for 38,980 yen (about US$350), while the 1TB model is available for 43,980 yen (about US$400).
All bundles will come with a special menu theme, and special packaging art.
Sony will release the models on June 23, the same day as the release of Resident Evil Umbrella Corps in Japan. CAPCOM will release the game for the PlayStation 4 and PC in the west on June 21, after delaying the game from its original May 12 release date. None of the above PS4 bundles will include the game.
Although the game is set within the Resident Evil/Biohazard universe, it will only have a minimal story and will focus more on competitive multiplayer combat. The game will support one to six players.
CAPCOM streamed a gameplay video for the game in October, then streamed the first trailer highlighting some of the weapons and equipment in November. The second trailer in January highlighted the story and different modes.
