▼ Hayashi To Attend G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting
- Category:Other
Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa says he wants to convey Japan's views on a range of issues at the Group of Seven foreign ministers' meeting in Britain.
Before leaving for Liverpool on Friday, Hayashi said he wants to exchange opinions on regional situations and global challenges with his G7 counterparts, whose countries shares basic values with Japan.
He also said countries are stepping up their commitment to the Indo-Pacific region, and he wants to show Japan's presence and make active contributions to discussions.
The G7 foreign affairs chiefs are expected to discuss responses to the coronavirus pandemic as well as security and human rights issues, with China's increasingly hegemonic activities in mind.
Hayashi plans to hold one-on-one talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and others to bolster bilateral relations.
