Before practicing, the Giants held a ceremony to commemorate their 60th year of training in Miyazaki.
The Giants, under third-year manager Yoshinobu Takahashi, were one of 11 teams that opened camp in either Miyazaki or Okinawa prefectures. The Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters will open their camp in Arizona.
