Awesomely Adorable Pikachu Cup Clinger Figures Add Some Poké-appeal To Your Beverages

  • Category:Souvenir

Six new designs offered showing the Pokémon star in moods ranging from fired up to love-struck.

During the holiday season, I took a trip back to my home town to visit friends and family, which really proved the truth of the old adage “The more the merrier.” Almost every day was an occasion to gather at someone’s home to catch up with one another, reminisce, laugh, and dine with a large group of wonderful people I’ve known for many, many years.

That said, we’re not so close that we want to share the same cup to drink from, which presents a problem. When you’ve got a dozen or so people mingling and moving about the same residence, it can get very hard to keep track of which glass is yours. But there’s a simple way to sidestep that issue by leaving the drink organization to Pikachu.

Novelty merchandise maker Kitan Club has just announced a new line of Pikachu cup clingers, following up on the first batch of adorable Pokémon figures for that purpose which the company released in 2015. In addition to the Sitting Pikachu above, there’s the dynamic Thunderbolt Pikachu

…and Dizzy Pikachu, who looks like he may have been sampling a bit too much of whatever alcoholic beverage has been poured into the glass he’s hanging on.

Finally, there’s a sixth, secret Pikachu that’s yet to be revealed, but it’s probably safe to assume that it’s also heart-meltingly cute.

Of course, these Pocket Minster companions aren’t just perfect for when guests come over, as Pikachu will also happily keep you company as you sip a solitary cup of tea or coffee while relaxing at home or taking a break at work.

There’s arguably one drawback to the whole thing, however. Pikachu cup clingers are available both from gachapon capsule toy vending machines and retail stores, but even in the case of the latter, the box makes no mention of which Pikachu is inside, meaning that the figure you get is random. However, there really isn’t a “bad” design among the group, and at just 300 yen (US$2.60) each, buying more than one isn’t particularly cost-prohibitive. And besides, it’s not like having more Pikachus around your home is ever a bad thing.
