Parts of Hokkaido experienced the first snowfall of the season on Tuesday morning.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, around five centimeters of snowfall were observed in Sapporo, Hakodate and Asahikawa at 5 a.m.
Temperatures dropped to levels for early December, with Sapporo recording 9 degrees at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, the agency said.
