▼ Typhoon Yun-Yeung Feared To Approach East Japan From Sept. 8 To 9

A new typhoon formed over the seas south of Japan on the night of Sept. 5, and is likely to hit eastern Japan's Pacific Ocean side with violent winds from Sept. 8 to 9, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
As of 9 a.m. on Sept. 6, Yun-yeung, this year's 13th typhoon, was about 180 kilometers east of Minamidaito Island, moving north-northeast at a speed of about 25 kilometers per hour.
According to the JMA, the typhoon was generated at 9 p.m. on Sept. 5, and as of 9 a.m. the following day, its central atmospheric pressure was 1,000 hectopascals and its maximum sustained wind speed near its center was 18 meters per second (approx. 65 km/h).
The typhoon's core is predicted to reach within a 210-km radius of an area about 50 km west of Hachijo Island, south of Tokyo, by 9 a.m. on Sept. 8.
