TOKYO - Grand Hyatt Tokyo has unveiled its new holiday and New Year menus that highlight the flavors of the season, all available beginning in December. To celebrate the holiday spirit, the hotel’s restaurants and bars will offer a range of holiday-inspired menus perfect for gatherings to share joy and happiness during this special time of year.


The Golden Burger and Mochi Cheeseburger

During December, indulge in The Oak Door’s luxurious 20,000 yen Golden Burger, which features golden buns, foie gras, black truffles, a juicy beef patty and Wagyu tenderloin. This decadent burger will be served with a side of French fries that are fried in duck fat to add even more flavor and crispiness. To kick off the new year, the chefs at The Oak Door have decided to incorporate mochi, one of the quintessential New Year’s foods in Japan, into a burger.

Diners can try this unique mochi cheeseburger featuring a beef patty topped with fragrant shiso, ponzu sauce, dried seaweed, mochi (rice cake), cheese, green onion and yuzu mayo sandwiched between two mochi-like buns.

The Japanese-inspired burger will be served with a side of French fries and ponzu aioli and will be available during the first week of January.


Holiday-Inspired Afternoon Tea

From the end of November, stop by The Oak Door and sip on a spiced hot chocolate featuring adorable marshmallow snowmen, served with cinnamon and powdered sugar-dusted donut holes, reminiscent of a playful day in the snow.

Those looking for something more substantial can head to The French Kitchen for a holiday afternoon tea and enjoy an endless selection of sweets from the lavish dessert buffet. The afternoon tea assortment plate will feature sweets and savories including smoked salmon cornet, smoked turkey tortilla wrap, Christmas chocolates, Bûche de Noël cake and cranberry chocolate scones.

From January, diners can enjoy a New Year’s-themed afternoon tea with bites of roast beef, bacon and mushroom quiche, matcha flavored opera cake, galette des rois and dog-inspired cookies to celebrate the year of the dog.


Cheese Fondue and Buddha Bowls

During December, The French Kitchen will offer a dinner course featuring baked cheese fondue made with Coulommiers cheese from France as the main course. Diners are invited to dip skewered beef, seafood and vegetables in the warm cheese fondue and homemade tomato sauce.

Those looking for a healthier alternative will be delighted by The Oak Door’s new Buddha Bowl filled with quinoa, winter root vegetables, sliced beets, Australian striploin and homemade crispy kale chips. Buddha Bowls are colorful bowls usually composed of vegetables, healthy grains and protein, making this a perfect guilt-free lunch option.


Colorful Christmas Cakes

This holiday season at Fiorentina Pastry Boutique, guests can choose from ten carefully crafted Christmas cakes. A new stained glass cake was inspired by this year’s holiday charity theme "Colors of Hope," as well as the hotel’s Lobby area, which will be decorated with stained glass. This colorful cake will be composed of 11 different flavors of mousse including rose, lavender, coconut, mango, pistachio, blueberry, chocolate and raspberry.

Bûche de Noël, also known as a Yule log cake, is a traditional dessert served near Christmas time in various regions of Europe. Our award-winning pastry chefs have created their own version of this cake with a chestnut-flavored filling and a crispy exterior. In addition, the boutique’s line-up of seasonal favorites will include stollen, panettone and Christmas cookies, and this year there will also be an assortment box of three different mini cakes perfect for taking to gatherings.

This year’s Christmas charity hampers will be presented with dark packaging to contrast the colorful sweets inside. The hampers will include a bottle of Champagne, a variety of sweets and a cork ornament made from recycled wine and Champagne corks collected from hotels and restaurants. Grand Hyatt Tokyo works with Re Kikou, a nonprofit organization that recycles corks into new products, helping to generate employment and support independence for people with disabilities. The hampers will be sold at Fiorentina Pastry Boutique and a portion of the profits will be donated to charity.


Festive Cocktails and a New Year’s Eve Countdown Party

There is no better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a cocktail. The mixologists at The Oak Door Bar will concoct a festive red cocktail made with Champagne and homemade Amaou strawberry purée, served in a gold-dusted glass and garnished with a Santa-inspired strawberry.

Toast to the new year with a Japanese-inspired cocktail made with local kumquat compote, Champagne and Japanese craft gin ROKU with scents of cherry blossom, green tea, Japanese pepper and yuzu citrus.
