This special Tinder convenience store is open till 5am – sure gives a whole meaning to the phrase ‘late night snack’

Tired of just swiping? If you’re hoping for some face-to-face interaction instead, Tinder might have just opened Tokyo’s hottest new hangout – or pickup joint, depending on your intentions.

The popular dating app is launching a special SwipeMart convenience store on Center Street in Shibuya, just minutes from the famous Scramble Crossing.

While this might sound suspiciously like some sort of hook-up zone, the Tinder konbini will actually be selling exclusive merchandise including special instant noodles, fried chicken, fruit sando, socks, boxer shorts and shirts featuring Tinder's iconic flame logo. You know, the usual stuff you’ll find at a konbini. 

However, instead of an ATM, SwipeMart will have a Swipe Booth. You can have your profile photo taken at the booth, then swipe right if you like your photo or left to retake your shot.

he store will also be hosting live events including performances by Elle Teresa, Shimamo, Bick and CYK. Tickets for the live shows are free, but you must sign-up in advance to secure a spot. More information here (in Japanese only).

This konbini is for adults only, naturally, so you must be at least 18 years or older to enter. SwipeMart is open from Friday September 16 to Monday September 19. The konbini hours are 12noon-5am on Friday, 10am-5am on Saturday and Sunday, and 10am-11pm on the holiday Monday. This Tinder konbini sure gives a whole new meaning to ‘late night snack’.
