- Category:Other
Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) showed the media its new N700S Shinkansen bullet train on Saturday, when it arrived at Tokyo Station for the fist time on the first day of a test run on the Tokaido Shinkansen line.
The N700S departed a rail yard in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, on Saturday morning and arrived at Platform 15 of Tokyo Station at about 10:05 a.m. Many photo-taking railfans were at the station to greet the new model. It stayed for about 15 minutes before departing for Shin-Osaka Station.
The N700S — JR Tokai’s first fully remodeled bullet train in 13 years — features a new structure that reduces air resistance and noise compared with conventional models. All cabin seats are equipped with electrical outlets.
